What the helper does
Separate from POKEMONU’s own game, the Pokétwo helper watches spawns from the Pokétwo bot in your server. It sends the spawn image to a recognition service to name the Pokémon, posts the name, and mentions the people whose lists match. It never catches anything — you still catch with Pokétwo as usual.
Try it safely: the Hunt Alerts preview shows how a match is explained and how muting works, without contacting Discord.
Your lists
Shiny-hunt and collection lists are yours everywhere: they follow you to every server you share with the bot. Region quests and type pings are set per server, so run them in each server where you want them.
| List | You’re pinged when… | Add | Remove |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shiny hunt | a species on the list spawns | !shinyhunt pikachu, gengar | !unshinyhunt gengar or /shiny-remove |
| Collection | a species on the list spawns | !collection eevee, ditto | !uncollection ditto or /collection-remove |
| Region quest (per server) | anything from that region spawns | !quest add Kanto | !quest remove Kanto |
| Type ping (per server) | anything of that type spawns | !typeping add Dragon | !typeping remove Dragon |
!hunts !unshinyhunt all !hunts shows everything you’re watching. all clears the shiny-hunt or collection list.
The spawn card
When a spawn is named, the bot posts a card with the name, how long identification took, and — when the service is unsure — other likely predictions. Buttons on the card let you see the Pokémon’s weaknesses, add it to your shiny hunt or collection list, check whether it’s in your POKEMONU Pokédex, or mute it.
Muting
!afk /afk !afk turns each category — shiny hunt, collection, region quest, type ping — on or off in the server where you run it. Muting keeps your lists; it only stops the mention. The Mute species button on a spawn card silences one species for you (up to 100). Server-wide rare-role mentions follow the server’s settings.
About shiny-hunt pings
A shiny-hunt ping means a species on your shiny list appeared. It does not mean the spawn is shiny — that is only revealed by Pokétwo when someone catches it.
What it needs to work
- Pokétwo in the server, posting spawns in channels POKEMONU can see.
- Channel access for POKEMONU: View Channel, Read Message History, Send Messages and Embed Links in the spawn channels.
- Gateway intents — the bot operator must keep the Message Content intent enabled for the application. This is set in Discord’s Developer Portal, not by server admins.
- The recognition service must be reachable. It’s an external service; if it is slow or down, spawns are still noticed but can’t be named until it recovers. Identification isn’t perfect, which is why other predictions are shown.
Catch stats and contracts
!profile !task !stats The helper also reads Pokétwo’s catch messages: !profile shows today’s catches in this server, !task gives you a type contract (catch a number of one type) that pays coins, and !stats shows spawn statistics for the server.
Some servers use rare-spawn protection: if a server has a #spam channel and a role named Sky, a rare spawn temporarily hides #spam from that role until someone runs !start in the spawn channel.
Troubleshooting
- No pings at all? Check
!hunts, and!afkin that server. Region and type pings only apply in the server where you added them. - Nothing is being named in the server? An admin can run
!diag(intents, permissions and the recognition service) and!whichbot(is Pokétwo here?). - Only some channels? POKEMONU probably can’t see those channels — check the channel’s permission overrides.
